CMHA - York Simcoe Connection
Extremely pleased to have connected in person with the CEO of the CMHA York-Simcoe chapter. It is truly amazing the resources, support and programs this organization has to offer. She was pleased to have an affiliation with the project - and we managed to sort out intentions for future planning revolving the sculpture. Development of showcasing information in respect to the mind-body connection is very sensitive. There are certainly the negative links, of which one with a mental illness could result in poor body management, and another, with injury can result in a poor mental space. Though with the darkness there is always a light. Being active and healthy will result in a positive brain space. It encourages one to simply be happy, encouraged, and stable. Also, the studies of the brain being physically connected with the body by way of feeling (ie. that chemical reaction one feels when you smile or get excited). This is only brushing the surface of how the mind and the body interact are are one with one another. It is amazing! I am elated to have had this conversation and ready to take the next step with the project.
NEXT STEP: Entering a proposal to brainproject.ca in respect to the Baycrest's call-out to individuals to create brains for charity. This is a curated project, downtown Toronto and proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Society.
